In 2020, Dominik began a feud with Seth Rollins, who had attacked his father and injured his eye at Extreme Rules. Rollins also tried to recruit Dominik to join his faction, The Monday Night Messiah, but Dominik refused.
This led to Dominik’s debut match at SummerSlam on August 23, where he faced Rollins in a street fight. Despite putting up a valiant effort and having his father and mother by his side, Dominik lost the match after Rollins hit him with a curb stomp.
Dominik then formed a tag team with his father and continued their rivalry with Rollins and his allies. They also had a brief feud with King Corbin, who mocked their family and tried to injure them.
On December 20 at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Dominik and Rey defeated The Hurt Business (Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin) to win the Raw Tag Team Championship for the first time. They became the first father and son team to win a tag team championship in WWE history.
In 2021, Dominik and Rey defended their titles against various teams such as The Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode), The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford), and The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso). They also moved to SmackDown as part of the 2021 WWE Draft.
On May 16 at WrestleMania Backlash, they defeated The Dirty Dawgs to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship for the first time. They became the first team to win both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
However, their reign was short-lived as they lost the titles to The Usos on July 16 on SmackDown. This led to a rematch at Money in the Bank on July 18, where they failed to regain the titles after Dominik accidentally hit Rey with a 619. After the match, Rey tried to console Dominik, but Dominik pushed him away and walked out on him.
On the July 23 episode of SmackDown, Dominik turned heel by attacking Rey and aligning himself with The Judgment Day, a new stable led by Rollins and consisting of Murphy, Austin Theory, and Toni Storm.
Dominik revealed that he had joined the group because he felt that Rey had held him back and that he wanted to make his own name in WWE. He also adopted a new ring name, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, and a new look, wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses.
