They manage to free Jack, and join forces with the Pirate Lords, the leaders of the nine pirate factions, who hold the Pieces of Eight, the keys to releasing Calypso, the goddess of the sea, who was imprisoned by the first Pirate King. They hope that Calypso will help them defeat Beckett and Davy Jones, who was once her lover, but betrayed her. However, they also face betrayal and deception from within their own ranks, as each pirate has their own agenda and motives.

The film is an epic and satisfying conclusion, bringing together all the characters and plot threads from the previous films, and delivering a spectacular finale. The film also explores the deeper themes of the series, such as the meaning of life, death, and love, and the consequences of one’s choices. The film was another blockbuster hit, becoming the second highest-grossing film of 2007, and the sixth highest-grossing film of all time at the time of its release. The film also earned two Academy Award nominations, including Best Visual Effects.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)

The fourth film in the series, On Stranger Tides, is a standalone adventure, featuring a new story and new characters, while retaining some of the elements and characters from the previous films. The film begins with Jack Sparrow being captured by the British Navy, who want him to guide them to the Fountain of Youth, a mythical source of eternal life. Jack escapes, and learns that someone is impersonating him, and recruiting a crew for a voyage to the Fountain.

He discovers that the impostor is Angelica, his former lover, who is working for her father, Blackbeard, the most feared pirate of all time. Blackbeard has a prophecy that he will die at the hands of a one-legged man, and believes that the Fountain can save him. Jack reluctantly joins them, hoping to find the Fountain for himself. However, they are not the only ones seeking the Fountain, as they are pursued by Barbossa, who has lost his leg and his ship, the Black Pearl, to Blackbeard, and wants revenge; and by the Spanish, who want to destroy the Fountain as an abomination.
