Reed finds out that he can stretch his body like rubber. Ben becomes a rock-like creature with super strength and durability. Johnny gains the ability to generate and manipulate fire. Sue develops the power of invisibility and force fields.
The four are shocked and horrified by their new appearances and abilities, and struggle to cope with their situation. Reed manages to escape from the facility, promising to find a cure for them. He goes into hiding, using his skills to create a suit that can control his powers.
The Rise of Doctor Doom
A year later, the government has been using Ben, Johnny, and Sue as weapons, sending them on covert missions around the world. Reed, meanwhile, has been tracking down clues about Planet Zero, hoping to reverse the effects of the storm.
He is eventually located and captured by Ben, who blames him for abandoning them. Reed is brought back to the Baxter Foundation, where he is reunited with Johnny and Sue. Storm convinces them to work together again, and reveals that he has rebuilt the quantum gate, hoping to find answers on Planet Zero.
The team returns to Planet Zero, where they are shocked to find Victor alive. Victor has been fused with his spacesuit and the green substance, giving him enhanced abilities and a twisted appearance. He claims that Planet Zero is his home now, and that he plans to destroy Earth and create a new world.
He kills Storm and attacks the team, overpowering them with his powers. He then activates the quantum gate, creating a portal that starts to suck the Earth’s matter into Planet Zero.
The Battle of the Fantastic Four
The team manages to escape from Victor and return to Earth. They realize that they have to work as a team to stop him, and decide to call themselves the Fantastic Four. They use the Baxter Foundation’s flying car to reach the portal, and confront Victor on Planet Zero. They engage in a fierce battle, with each of them using their powers to fight Victor.
Reed distracts Victor, while Ben punches him into the portal’s energy beam. Johnny flies into the beam and destabilizes it, while Sue uses her force field to protect them from the explosion. The portal collapses, destroying Victor and ending his threat.
