Diksia.com - JAKARTA, Netizens recently reported that there is an application that is harmful to society.

The application is Jombingo, an application that calls to conduct business in the field of e-commerce.

This allegedly state-sponsored application offers great advantages.

In reality, however, there are people who feel disadvantaged by Jombingo.

A TikToker fell victim to the Jombingo scam. Quoted by Kompas.com, Satyasalsabila (Bila) admitted that she joined as a Jombingo member because it offers high rewards.

Information about Jombingo offers a great benefit when obtained from one’s own close friends who are also members of Jombingo and are currently victims as well.

In short, at the end of May 2023, Bila decided to join Jombingo member.

“It’s a high return so I’m interested and it’s also directly under the government and supported by the government, registered with OSS, there’s even a PSE with Kominfo. Well I think the application is really safe, I trust the government that way,” Kompas.com said on Wednesday (6/28/2023) when asked.

After gradually becoming a member of Jombingo for over a month, Bila admits that he is not at all suspicious of all the transactions included in the application. This is because all transactions and transaction balance replenishment are returned by Jombingo management.

Consignment Transaction Model If you tell me, in Jombingo itself the transaction model is consignment. It should be noted that consignment is the transfer of an item to another party in order to sell it to a buyer whose existence has not been confirmed.

Sales to foreign locations are carried out according to the sale method in the form of auctions via free markets or trading exchanges.

The process to get benefits from Jombingo itself is that members who have registered as account members are contacted by the admin of Jombingo management.

Later, the admin will add registered members to a group whose contents are other members. These members receive training on how to sell the products marketed by Jombingo.

What is unique is that the price of the products sold at Jombingo is very cheap. For example, if the market price of a Mio motorcycle is around 20 million rupees, it will only be sold for 6 million rupees in Jombingo.

The member’s task is to ship the product and the winnings are distributed to the member’s account balance by the Jombingo management. “For example, Jombingo has a juicing product that costs Rs 800,000 to sell.

So these members are placed in a special group of juicing products that are formerly resold through the commission system. If it is successfully sold, we will make a profit from it,” said Bilal.

“These 800,000 rupees are our capital which will be added as a balance but will be repaid later along with distribution of sales profits anyway. Why can you make hundreds of millions of profits, because usually one account can make a profit of at least Rp. 200,000 per day,” continue if.

When you find out you have been scammed they want to withdraw your funds but your withdrawal is declined. His total balance is in the hundreds of millions of rupees, but Bila cannot even take a penny. Then he also tried to find out information from other members, but his fate was the same.

“It turns out that all members of the group complain. No one can withdraw the balance,” he said. In fact, when I went to report it to the Jombingo management admin, none of them responded positively.

“The admin just said, ‘Nobody is forcing you to join Jombingo, it’s not my fault. It is your own fault that you have been deceived,’” said Bilal.

Three systems were lured to benefit from Jombingo

Icha, Bila’s friend, who is a victim of Jombingo, feels it too. Icha explained that there are three systems to benefit from Jombingo.

The first is to invite new users. Each time a new user registers using a registered member’s invite code, the member will receive a bonus credit of IDR 5,000.

Then there’s the option to connect with friends via shopping invites. Members receive a bonus of IDR 1,000 for one person who joins.

While the biggest benefit is joining a VIP shipment, meaning having a VIP account, members can get a shipment of 10 to 30 percent of the total purchase price of certain products.

Since Jombingo’s business license is registered with the Ministry of Commerce, Communications and Informatics and offers high profits, Icha dared to join since April 2023. With the same fate as Bila, Icha also lost hundreds of millions of rupees.

“Indeed, the initial capital was small, but why was there more and more profits, the higher the profits. It didn’t take long before I wanted to take over the balance but why couldn’t I. It turned out that all members had the same fate”, Icha said.

Because of this case, Bila and Icha, along with 20 other members, reported this fraud case to the National Police Headquarters.

“Well they said they would be processed in two weeks. However, we are still awaiting government attention when the permits are issued, but there is no oversight,” lamented Icha.

Beware of very strange offers

In response, the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA) urged e-commerce customers to be careful.

This follows the Jombingo e-commerce application fraud case which cost users hundreds of millions of rupiah.

idEA Chairman Bima Laga believes that at first glance the scheme used in the Jombingo scam is a Ponzi scheme or a money game and scam. This scam allows someone to steal personal information in order to misuse it.

“This scam is a deceptive scheme whose sole purpose is to steal money or goods or personal information from the victim. Therefore, the public needs to be even more cautious, and clarity and confirmation on some product or offer is important,” Bima said when contacted by Kompas.com, Thursday (07/06/2023).

“We also actively encourage our members to be wary of tempting online offers involving cash requests involving users’ personal information,” Bima continued.

Bima also confirmed that Jombingo is not a member of iDea, although transactions in Jombingo are identical to those in other e-commerce, namely selling and buying goods.

Also with Jombingo legality approval. Although Jombingo has been officially registered on the government’s website, Bima says it’s no guarantee that the transaction is legal.

As is known, Jombingo is registered on oss.go.id page in Online Single Submission (OSS) with NIB 1910220089092 with active status and OSS RBA migration status and already at the end has an Electronic System Operator (PSE) permit from Kominfo Yesterday in December 2022 with a token number register PSE 008714.01/DJAI.PSE/12/2022.

“Jombingo is not part of iDea. In Jombingo itself it says it is e-commerce, not fintech with a lottery system for the winner by allowing one person in each gaming group to own goods with a lottery system.”

Therefore, it is necessary to check with the Ministry of Social Welfare (Dit PPSDBS), which regulates gambling permits with a lottery system,” he concluded.

As previously reported, e-commerce application Jombingo is still in the social media spotlight as its users have suffered losses of up to hundreds of millions of rupiah.

Trading and investment expert Desmond Wira revealed that the method used in this transaction was a pyramid scheme disguised as an e-commerce application.

It should be noted that the Ponzi scheme itself is an investment scam, where the scheme of returns for investors is denied from the money of new investors.

Ponzi schemes are similar to pyramid schemes in that they both use money from new investors to pay existing investors.

“Basically, it is actually a money game or Ponzi game. The mode takes the form of an e-commerce application that sells goods at a low price of up to 10,000 rupees. But in order to buy, members must invite other people to become members.”‘ He said when contacted by Kompas.com on Friday (06/30/2023).
