Diksia.com - JAKARTA, The Indonesia Teen Fashion Week (ITFW) event takes place and offers young designers the opportunity to show their work to the public. At ITFW 2023, more than 100 talented young designers from different regions of the country will be selected, selected while showing their work by showing models on the catwalk.
The selection process was conducted by a curator comprised of a number of experienced designers and fashion enthusiasts, including Derry Dahlan. “For the criteria, we’re really looking for designers who can develop further in the future,” said Derry Dahlan, chairman of the ITFW 2023, at a press conference at the Ibis Style Hotel Mangga Dua Square on Saturday (08/07/2023).
“We open it online, we select those who have future projects,” he said.
This event starts from the difficulty that talented and creative young designers find a place where they can continue to grow. “A lot of talented and creative young designers end up burying their talents and dreams of becoming a famous designer because of cost issues,” explained Derry.
“Because doing a fashion show isn’t cheap,” he continued.
One of the young designers to showcase her work at ITFW 2023 is Carissa, the Princess of Indonesian Little Batik in 2021.
She admitted that she was interested in the world of fashion after she managed to become the inaugural winner of Putri Batik two years ago. “I’m here to present 18 collections. Teenagers usually don’t like tie-dye. I actually made tie-dye for teens to use in everyday life,” Carissa said.
ITFW 2023 has 3 categories, the first category with 6 collections, then 12 categories and 18 collections.
