Luna is shocked and scared by the sudden turn of events. She does not understand why Caleb wants her as his mate, or why he is so nice to her.
She has never experienced kindness or affection before, and she does not know how to respond to it. She also feels guilty for leaving her pack behind, even though they treated her horribly.
Caleb is patient and gentle with Luna. He does not force himself on her, but waits for her to be ready. He shows her around his pack, and introduces her to his friends and family.
He also helps her heal from her wounds and scars, both physical and emotional. He teaches her how to read and write, how to shift into a wolf, how to fight and defend herself, and how to be happy.
Luna slowly starts to open up to Caleb and his pack. She makes friends with some of the female wolves, who support her and protect her.
She also begins to feel more comfortable around Caleb, and develops feelings for him. She realizes that he is not like other alphas, who are arrogant and cruel. He is caring and loyal, strong and brave, handsome and charming.
However, their relationship is not without obstacles. Luna’s parents are furious that Caleb took their daughter away from them. They see Luna as their property, not as their child.
They want to get her back, or kill her if they can’t. They team up with another rogue pack that hates Caleb, and plan to attack his pack and kidnap Luna.
Caleb and his pack are aware of the danger, and prepare to defend themselves. They also have allies from other packs, who support Caleb and Luna.
They manage to fend off the attack, but not without casualties. Luna is almost captured by her father, but Caleb saves her in time. He kills her father in self-defense, and frees Luna from his tyranny.
Luna is traumatized by the battle, and blames herself for the deaths of some of Caleb’s pack members. She feels unworthy of Caleb’s love, and thinks that he would be better off without her.
She tries to run away from him, but he catches her and stops her. He tells her that he loves her more than anything, and that he can’t live without her.
