Diksia.com - There are rumors that the Meta Platform will soon release a new application that is claimed to be similar to Twitter.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said an application called Threads will be released on Thursday (June 7, 2023) and will be available to iOS users.

“Threads are where the community gathers to discuss everything from today’s interesting topics to tomorrow’s trends,” Zuckerberg said in a statement on Tuesday.

The application is expected to compete with Twitter, which has recently come to the fore with a number of new rules deemed difficult for users.

Users can then follow accounts they follow on Instagram and join threads with the same name.

At this time, there is no news of the availability of the Threads application on the Google Play store for Android-based smartphone users.

Twitter limits

The release of the Threads application comes after Twitter announced a limit on the number of posts that can be viewed per day. The amount depends on the user’s account status.

Via a tweet uploaded on Saturday (January 7, 2023), Twitter owner Elon Musk said that verified accounts can see 6,000 posts per day, while unverified accounts can see 600.

Posts, explained that new unconfirmed accounts can view 300 posts. .

Shortly after, Musk changed policy and announced that the limit would soon be increased to 10,000 for verified accounts, 1,000 for unverified accounts, and 500 for new unverified accounts.

According to Musk, the restrictions will help nearly everyone, from artificial intelligence (AI)-based companies and startups to tech giants, grapple with scraping large amounts of data from Twitter.
