Diksia.com - CALIFORNIA, After 24 hours, Threads, a social media application that is Twitter’s twin, has been released to the public by Meta Inc. Threads CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s account is under attack from netizens around the world.

The attack was carried out by netizens who were angry because their thread account could not be deleted. In addition, they also expressed their disappointment with Meta because their personal Instagram account also disappeared with the final deletion of the thread account.

“I deactivated my Threads account but turns out you can’t delete a Threads account without also deleting your Instagram account,” tweeted the @emilyhughes account on Twitter, disappointed that it did was unable to delete a Threads account.

A similar complaint was also made by the @NotHoodlum account, in which he tweeted that when the Threads account was permanently deleted, his Instagram account was automatically deleted.

While the account deactivation feature can only temporarily deactivate a thread for a period of one week, the user’s thread profile and tweets are again available to the public thereafter.

Additionally, Meta does not allow users to change Threads account names without changing Instagram usernames. This set of policies then caused disappointment among the netizens, who decided to make negative comments about Meta as the creator of the Threads application.

In response to negative comments from netizens, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri spoke out on the matter. In his official statement, he tried to calm netizens’ tantrums.

“I had a series of questions about deleting your account. To be clear, you can disable your Threads account, which hides your Threads profile and content, you can make your profile private, and delete individual threads — all without deleting your Threads Instagram account,” wrote Mosseri.

In this upload, Mosseri did not directly mention the Threads account, which can be deleted if you delete the Instagram account first. However, he stressed that he was looking for a way to create a new feature so Threads accounts could be deleted without deleting Instagram.
