Diksia.com - CALIFORNIA, Twitter’s new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, announced that she supports the platform’s policy with a blue bird icon to limit the number of tweets her users can read.
“When you have a mission like Twitter, you have to take big steps to keep strengthening the platform,” Yaccarino tweeted.
Twitter owner Elon Musk previously stated that the restrictions were aimed at preventing “extreme levels” of data scraping and system manipulation.
In the days following Musk’s announcement, Twitter users posted screenshots showing that after hitting the limit, they were no longer able to see any tweets, including on the company’s promotional page.
And marketers say it could hurt Yaccarino’s efforts to lure advertisers.
Meanwhile, Twitter claims only a small percentage of its users are affected by the restriction.
“To ensure the authenticity of our user base, we must take extreme measures to remove spam and bots from our platform,” the company said in a blog post on Tuesday (07/04/2023).
Meta Launches Twitter Rivals Platform
Recently, Meta Platform Inc. plans to launch a microblogging application called Threads.
It is claimed that this social media platform will be a serious competitor to Twitter, which is currently under scrutiny for its restrictive policies.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, said the app will be released and available for iOS users on Thursday (06/07/2023).
“Threads bring the community together to discuss everything from topics that interest you today to the trends of tomorrow,” Zuckerberg said in a statement Tuesday (07/04/2023).
Then users can follow the accounts they follow on Instagram and enter threads with the same name.
