Diksia.com - RIYADH, The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques opened a program last Wednesday entitled “Benevolence of Hajj for Young Visitors.”
The aim of this program is to educate children about the importance of Hajj, to guide and enlighten them and to enrich their experience at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
According to the Arab News page on Friday (07/07/2023), the Hajj season ended last Friday after around 2 million Muslims from around the world performed their worship rituals, which ended with the three-day Rami Al-Jamarat, or stoning of the devil in Jamarat complex in Mina.
The pilgrims then returned to the Grand Mosque and performed a farewell tawaf around the Holy Kaaba.
Saud Al-Zahrani, director-general of the General Administration for Social Services, said his party is responsible for looking after the children of believers and visitors to the Grand Mosque through its youth visitor services.
From raising awareness to enriching their experiences in supporting the General Presidency’s 2024 Development Plan.
Al-Zahrani added that the Presidency General has provided smart bracelets for children at the main entrance to the mosque.
The smart bracelet contains contact information for parents or friends to prevent the risk of losing these children.
The program also provides guided tours to specific locations in the Grand Mosque and public facilities and educates them about Hajj, prayer and ablution.
It also promotes social initiatives in caring for visitors through awareness programs and aims to provide an enjoyable experience for these children.
That year, authorities also opened the first day-care center for young children at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
Every year, thousands of pilgrims perform Hajj with their children, making it an intimate experience for the youngest Muslims but an added challenge for parents.
For some people, leaving the child is not an option.
For others, however, taking their offspring with them is an important step in order to involve children in religious practices not only from an early age.
But it also provides important formative memories and experiences to share with this younger generation.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on Wednesday announced the start of the umrah season with the start of electronic visa (e-visa) issuance.
Submitting an application for this e-visa can be done through the Nusuk platform, according to the ministry.
