On June 28, 2022, the judge ruled that Djamani suffered most from mild to moderate methamphetamine withdrawal during the period in question.
However, he also concluded that the body of additional evidence did not affect any previous findings or decisions regarding Djamani’s testimony.
The judge saw no reason to deviate from his conclusion at the trial regarding Djamani’s guilt.
On October 6, 2022, the Singapore Court of Appeal dismissed Djamani’s appeal, finding it “unfounded” and falling far short of the threshold required to rebut the statutory presumption under Article 17 of the MDA that he possess diamorphine for the purpose of human trafficking.
