DIKSIA.COM - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and wife Iriana Jokowi arrived at Tianfu International Airport in the city of Chengdu, Sichuan province of China, Thursday (July 27, 2023).
Quoted from the Presidential Secretariat, Jokowi arrived in Jakarta after about a five-hour journey from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base.
The Indonesian-1 presidential plane carrying the President and Mrs. Iriana landed at around 2:40 p.m. local time.
After the plane came to a complete stop, the President and Mrs. Iriana walked down the stairs of the plane and two children were seen presenting flowers to the President and Mrs. Iriana.
Then, the Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun and the Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, Brigadier General (Mar) Benny P. Nadeak and his wife, welcomed the President and Mrs. Iriana under the stairs of the plane.
The People's Republic of China side was also seen greeting the Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China Huai Jinpeng, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to RI Lu Kang and his wife, and Governor of Sichuan Province Huangqiang.
In addition, the arrival of President Jokowi and Ms. Iriana was also warmly welcomed by a number of Chinese students who lined up to accompany the President and Ms. Iriana to the vehicle.
From the airport, the President and Mrs. Iriana and their entourage continued their journey to the hotel where they stayed during their visit to Chengdu.
