Visit The APEC House, President Jokowi. Welcome By Prime Minister Marape

Diksia.com - JAKARTA, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited APEC House during his visit to Papua New Guinea on Wednesday (7/5/2023).

The Prime Minister (PM) of Papua New Guinea, James Marape, immediately welcomed the arrival of the head of state as he stepped out of the vehicle.

In addition, the arrival of President Jokowi was greeted with the “Hiri Moale” dance. After the reception, Prime Minister Marape, together with President Jokowi, went to the second floor of APEC House to go to the tête-à-tête execution room.

Before entering the meeting room, Prime Minister Marape introduced several Papua New Guinea government officials, namely Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Immigration, Borders and Land Affairs John Rosso, Fisheries Minister Jelta Wong, Health Minister Lino Tom, Agriculture Minister Aye Tambua, Education Minister Jimmy Uguro, Higher Education Minister Don Polye , Coffee Secretary Joe Kuli, Palm Oil Secretary Francis Maneke, National Industry Secretary William Duma, and Transportation and Civil Aviation Secretary Walter Schnaubelt.

After an approximately 35-minute one-on-one meeting, President Jokowi and the delegation then held a bilateral meeting with the government of Papua New Guinea.

Accompanying President Jokowi at the bilateral meeting are Coordinating Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of State Pratikno, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Plh. Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Asia Pacific and Africa Adi Dzulfuat and Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Vanimo Allen Simarmata.

At the end of the bilateral meeting, President Jokowi and Prime Minister Marape also witnessed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Higher Education Sector signed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Papua New Guinea Minister of Higher Education Don Polye.
