Diksia.com - European automaker Peugeot has revealed that it sold a record 5.5 million electric bicycles in Europe last year. This means that one of his four bikes sold in the Old Continent is an electric bike.

To capture this market share, the company is showcasing its latest generation of electric bike models through Peugeot Cycles, a renowned bike business.

This new model with new connectivity features is expected to hit the market in late 2023/early 2024.

The three e-Bikes include a futuristic model for the city, a family-oriented ‘Longtail’ and a luggage-focused ‘Bi-Carrier’.

The first is the Digital e-Bike designed for urban use. The V-shaped frame and minimalist features make it the most futuristic of the three e-bikes.

Next is the Digital e-Longtail, which features an elongated tail. He has two child seats, with footrests on either side of the wheels and a metal frame on which the child can hold onto.

Last but not least, the Digital e-Front Load is also a great cargo bike for families as it can carry up to 3 children in the extended front wheelbase crate.

Carscoops reports that the e-bike is still presented in concept form, but without detailed specifications.

However, it will go into production in 2024 and will be offered with more variants to expand the company’s line-up.

Benefit from new features via a dedicated smartphone app, including adaptive electric assistance, anti-theft system, alarms, bike location, real-time navigation, destination weather forecasts and route statistics.

The current model of Peugeot Cycles is designed, manufactured and sold by Cycleurope Industries, the exclusive licensee of the French company.

However, future e-bikes will be designed, manufactured and sold by the start-up Beweel through its distribution channels.
