On the other hand, the existence of government regulations giving priority to vehicle rental for official purposes means that this business continues to grow rapidly.
Roy Septianto Nugroho, elected chairman of the Nusantara Car Rental Association in 2024, explained that this situation has encouraged the growth of small rental companies in Jakarta.
“Residents who own a car have more than one entity considering renting their car. “This can be a passive income opportunity through rental,” Roy said in a written statement cited on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
The increasing number of small rental companies certainly also creates problems that are not easy.
According to Yansen, they have to compete with big companies like Trac and Indorent.
“Of course, this makes it difficult for small landlords who are still SMEs. “To compete with big corporate dominance, we need to unite,” Roy said.
“Synergy is needed between small rental companies,” he said.
Because of these concerns, Yansen and several rental companies formed the Nusantara Car Rental Association (RMN) in 2019.
“TLDM was founded on June 29, 2019. Its existence meets the needs of car rental companies and small car operators,” said the man, commonly called Mamang among rental companies.
“Overall, TLDM has played an important role in building cooperation and supporting local car rental companies in Indonesia, improving service quality and providing solutions for contract holders and partners in meeting consumer needs.
“With the support and collaboration of all its members, it is hoped that TLDM will continue to grow and make a positive contribution to the rental car industry in the archipelago,” he continued.
TLDM has rich experience in national and international events since its inception, including the Golkar National Conference, the ASEAN Summit, the G20 Belitung Summit and the OIC Bali Summit.
