Diksia.com - JAKARTA, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) recently increased the retail price of several Honda car models marketed in Indonesia.

That means that consumers who want to buy a new Honda car have to be willing to spend more. For example, the price of the Honda Brio Satya has increased by Rs 1 million since May 2023. Meanwhile, the price of Brio RS has increased by IDR 10.8 million.

According to Honda’s official website, Brio Satya is currently being sold at a price of Rs. 165.9-193.9 million. Meanwhile, Brio RS is fixed at IDR 236.4 million. All prices above are for OTR Jakarta.

At the beginning of July, other Honda models, namely Honda City and City Hatchback RS, were also restocked by IDR 1 million higher than the previous month.

The Honda City is now priced at IDR 373.9 million while the City Hatchback RS is priced at IDR 344.6 million.

Yusak Billy, director of business innovation and sales and marketing for PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM), said the customization of some Honda models had to be made due to the higher cost of car production.

“This price adjustment came after many efforts to reduce production costs,” he said on Wednesday (May 7, 2023).

He said his party is committed to continuing to bring value to customers, both in terms of products and services.

Based on data from the Indonesian Automobile Industry Association (Gaikindo), Honda’s retail sales (dealer to factory) in January-May 2023 reached 57,338 units. Last May, Honda recorded retail sales of 11,391 units.

The new Honda Brio posted sales of 4,481 units and is still Honda’s mainstay despite the increased price.

Meanwhile, the Honda City Hatchback RS was able to sell 233 units while Honda City sold 29 units last May.
