For some time now, the police have been reintroducing manual fines for traffic offenders.

Kadiv Police Inspector General for Public Relations Sandi Nugroho said manual ticket collection has resumed due to the increase in traffic violations.

The improvement is mainly seen in locations where ETLE (Digital Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) cameras are not installed.

“Based on the results of investigations in multiple areas, since manual fines were not enforced, places not protected by ETLE cameras are seeing an increase in violations, particularly violations that have the potential to cause traffic accidents ‘ Sandi said in his report. Opinion, Monday (15.5.2023).

Sandi said his party is again strengthening law enforcement by manually reactivating tickets.

“Therefore, there is a need to enforce manual tickets to support and strengthen the existence of ETLE tickets, especially on roads where there are no ETLE cameras,” he said.

In addition, Sandi ensured that this manual speeding ticket is only aimed at road users committing gross violations, not through raids.

“Motorists who are caught in the act by officers committing traffic violations are issued manual tickets,” he said.
